CuLCaSG is a nonprofit, non-government organization of doctors, nurses, and other health care personnel of the Cuneo Health System.  CulCaSG has worked to become an internationally recognized scientific group proficient in lung cancer care.  CuLCaSG is committed to:

CLINICAL RESEARCH

CuLCaSG is engaged in any aspect of lung cancer medicine, including:

1. clinical presentation and prevalence studies
2. diagnostic techniques and staging protocols
3. tumor markers and their clinical application
4. surgical therapy, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and combined modality treatments
5. supportive care and psychological testing

CONTINUING EDUCATION

CuLCaSG operates in a non-university, hospital-based environment where continuing education is not mandatory.  CulCaSG works to:

1. stimulate information exchange between group members
2. organize regional, national, and international meetings and courses on specific lung cancer topics
3. financing short educational residency at outstanding cancer centers worldwide

PATIENT CARE

CuLCaSG enbraces an approach that synthesizes four different needs crucial in the comphrensive care of lung cancer patients:

1. efficacy
2. cost-effectiveness
3. respect of the patients' willingness
4. consideration of their quality of life

Since research, continuing education, tuition of new personnel, caring of patients' needs not covered by the Italian Health Service are expensive tasks, CuLCaSG is also committed:
